The forest, an intrinsic part of our heritage, is currently being “rediscovered“. In Japan, the most popular form of relaxation is ”Shinrin Yoku” - the best translation would be “bathing in the depths of the forest”. Here at Kraftquelle Waldhäuser, situated in the oldest German National Park, the Bavarian Forest, you can find many ways to unwind and still the human need for peace and tranquillity. Nature is a very powerful tool when one seeks a certain distance from stress-inducing situations.

Guided mindful and meditative walks and hikes combined with yoga and breathing exercises can help you to find your inner source of power. As a side effect your immune system seems to communicate with the terpenes that the forest releases into the air. It is scientifically proven that this strengthens our immune system and stress hormones are supressed at the same time. Forest air is medicine without side effects!

Take your foot off the accelerator

Let yourself be caught up in the spur of the moment. Be open-minded like a child and enjoy the experience of adventure that the forest offers. Lose track of time listening to the bubbling streams and experiencing all that moss, branches and the wood offer. Through your awareness of nature you will relearn how to listen to your own inner voice. It may possibly make you realise that everything is subject to constant change.

Take the focus away from your goals

Stroll through the forest without categorising or judging anything and you will be overawed by the overriding impression that “not perfect“ is also, or still, beautiful.

Lean on a tree that you like. Feel its bark and breathe in the vapour of the healing terpenes. Let your sensual perceptions come into their own and try to reach a state of meditation with your chosen tree.

Walking without haste

There are different hiking tours that start here at the “Kraftquelle Waldhäuser“. Taking our packed lunch, you could walk to Lake Lusen across a sky ladder and can have a breathtaking view across the Bavarian and Czechoslovakian National Park (Sumava).

A particularly inspiring walk is one to the Rachelsee - a relict from the ice age. This walk shows you the diversity of the Bavarian Forest. Intuitively you will find a suitable place where you can take a break and enjoy our “Kraftpaket Waldhäuser” or you can have something to eat and drink in one of the mountain huts.

White and silent

In winter the Bavarian National Forest can be a place of “inner retreat”. Winter walks on foot or with snow shoes through the forest offer relaxation, improve your own personal insights and can be a detox from daily stress.
